As a Technician, you will diagnose and repair automotive systems. Major activities include: Assisting (not training) technician mechanics in performing technical activities. Diagnoses and repairs to specifications – brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems. Adequately explains technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include employees and customers on an as-required basis. Remove old paint from Equipment, using Plastic Media blast, Aluminum Oxide Media and/or liquid paint remover and scraper. Smoothes surface with sandpaper and steel wool. Paint insignia, letters or numerals on equipment surface using stencils. Essential Responsibilities include:1. Coat surfaces of contract units with primer, paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin or other materials using brushes, rollers, spray fans and other devices.2. Remove old paints using a liquid paint remover, scraper or plastic/sand media blasting techniques.3. Smoothes surface with sandpaper and steel wool.4. Roughens aluminum surfaces with acid solution and steel wool to ensure that paint adheres to surface and provides corrosion control methods to customer specifications.5.
